A first semester Catalan student shows us UIUC and her cities (in Catalan, of course)

This is Samantha McArdle’s project for the James Scholar Honors Program, which “encourages high achieving undergraduates to expand scholastic opportunities beyond the minimum requirements”. In this video Samantha, a first semester Catalan student, shows us the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Arlington Heights (her city), and Chicago. Bona feina! Felicitats!

Catalan at UIUC Station and Fall 2013 courses

We have created a list of Spotify and YouTube playlists with Catalan music and culture. You can find them all at:

Also, these are the courses offered on SPRING 2013:

CATL 401 (Beginner 1)

The best way to have a glance at what this course is like is to explore the tab “CATL 401 Fall 2012″s in the above menu, where you will find the syllabus and a summary of what we have done in every class.

CATL 402 (Beginner 2)

The title “Studies in Catalan Literature” is mistaken. It is actually a lineal continuation of CATL 401. The schedule will be arranged fitting the needs of the instructor and the students inscribed.
